Frequently Asked Questions

Legacy Memoir Services

What exactly do I get when I hire you to write my memoir?

You'll receive a fully ghostwritten, professionally edited manuscript that tells your story with meaning and authenticity, shaped through a series of private conversations and any notes or materials you wish to share. At the end, you'll have a complete memoir ready to print, preserve, or share—your story, beautifully told.

Will you be listed as the author or co-author?

No—this is your story, and you'll be credited as the sole author unless you choose otherwise. I work behind the scenes to bring your memories to life while preserving your voice and truth.

Do I retain the rights to my story?

Yes. You'll own all rights to your memoir. You're free to print copies, publish it publicly, or keep it as a personal treasure.

Is this like a vanity press?

Not at all. This is a custom, one-on-one service—not a publishing company selling pre-packaged options. You retain full ownership and creative control. There are no publishing contracts, no locked platforms, and no inflated add-on fees. This is about honoring your story—not mass-producing it.

I’m not a writer. Can I still do this?

Absolutely. You don't need to write a single word. I'll guide you through relaxed interviews, listen deeply, and shape your story into a compelling narrative—written in your voice and true to who you are.

How long does the process take?

Most legacy memoirs take 4–8 months, depending on the depth of the story and your availability. If you have a specific deadline, we'll discuss that during your consultation.

Can you help me publish the book once it’s finished?

Yes. I offer an optional publishing package that includes professional formatting, ISBN setup, cover designer sourcing and oversight, and file preparation for print or ebook. Whether you want a few personal copies or plan to make your book publicly available, I'll guide or manage the process—always tailored to your goals.

Will my book be published under your imprint?

No. All publishing support is handled independently. You'll maintain full creative control and can publish under your own name, a private imprint, or a family name if you'd like. I'll walk you through every step or manage the process for you—whichever you prefer.

Will I keep the rights to my book?

Yes—always. You retain full ownership of your story and manuscript. My role is to help you bring it to life, not to claim any part of it.

How much does this service cost?

Legacy memoir packages begin at $25,000, with publishing add-ons starting at $5,000. Every story is unique, so we'll discuss your goals and create a customized quote after a complimentary discovery call.

Can we talk before I commit?

Of course. This is an intimate and personal journey, and I want to make sure it feels like the right fit for both of us. You can inquire about a no-pressure discovery call right here.

What’s the difference between a memoir, autobiography, and biography?

These terms can be confusing—here's a quick breakdown:

Memoir: A personal, emotional, and thematic reflection on specific moments or chapters of your life.

  > Example: A woman's journey through grief and healing after loss.

  > Or: A father reflecting on the lessons that shaped him as he prepares to retire.

Autobiography: A complete chronological account of your life from birth to present. Often used by public figures or professionals wanting to document their legacy.

  > Example: A retired business owner detailing their life story, including major milestones and turning points.

Biography: A story written about someone else—often through interviews or research.

  > Example: A daughter who hires me to interview her mother and create a book for future generations.

  > Or: A family preserving the life story of a beloved grandparent.

Not sure which one fits your vision? That’s okay. During our call, I’ll help you discover the best way to share your story—whether it’s your own or a loved one’s.
