Welcome to Words & Whimsy

Hey, Magical Friends!

Before we dive in, I want to share what Words & Whimsy is—and what it isn't. Let me say right away, this isn't a review blog. So, I won't be giving any stars or ratings to books. Nor will I dissect plot twists or offer any literary critiques. There are plenty of places for that, and I'm glad they exist. But this isn't one of them. As a writer, I know critiques can make or break a career, and I don't want to be critical.

“This isn’t a review blog.”

So, Words & Whimsy is something softer. It's a place to reflect on stories that feel like a cup of tea after a long day—cozy, uplifting, and magical. The books I share here have made me feel good, given me hope, or given me something to believe in. You'll find that some carry a spark of romance (Okay, most of them have at least a little romance), others a bit of quiet wisdom, but all of them in some way have a hint of the extraordinary woven into the everyday. These are my favorite reads.

Imagine you saw me in passing and said, "Any good book recommendations for me?"

Now, picture me full of energy, speaking in fast, quick bursts, barely able to contain my joy. "Oh, yes! You HAVE to read this book and that one. Oh, and this one, too!"

“These are my favorite reads.”

I've always loved a great story—the ones I walk away from with all the feels. So, think of this space as a little reading nook tucked away from the noise—a spot where we can connect over stories that make us happy and give us hope. After all, we all know the world could use more positivity, and isn't it more exciting to share it with others?

So, if you find comfort in character-driven fiction, love a subtle dose of magic and meaning woven into the ordinary, and believe that books can be both lighthearted AND powerful, you're in the right place.

I'm so glad you're here, and I hope you find some new favorites. You'll have to let me know.

With magic,

Kendra
